Hello 2011!

Happy New Year 2011 everyone! It has been the 3rd day of this new year and sad to say, I dont really feel any difference in welcoming the new year for 2011. Not that I didnt feel the spirit as I didnt attend the countdown party, but its more of the fact that I had been on leave on the last week of december. Staying at home somewhat made me lost track of the dates so that's why I didnt feel any difference.

Before I start on my updates on my pregnancy, let me recap the "happenings" of 2010.

Since I got married in Dec 2009, Jan-March of 2010 relives my wedding memories. During this period, my wedding albums, frames, DVDs of the wedding etc were ready. And I also did the sembah-menyembah thingy where newly-weds visited the elderly who were involved in preparation of our wedding and show them those photos that were ready. This somehow shows our appreciation, and in turn for visiting them, they will return either give us gifts or ang pows.

Hubby and I went for our 2nd honeymoon in May, without realising at that time I was already 3 weeks pregnant. I didnt feel anything, in fact there was a surge in my appetite. After I got back, I started feeling sharp pains around my stomach area (which I ignored) and after 3 weeks, I started feeling nauseous. Took the pregnancy kit test and on 25th May, I went to see a gynae and was confirmed to be 6 weeks pregnant.

So that pretty much wraps up my 2010. From June all the way till now, I had been updating at least monthly the progress of my pregnancy, so that pretty much sums it all.

Oh, besides being about me (hahah), 2010 witnessed a lot of my friends got hitched. 3 of my closest buddies from primary school got hitched, followed by some clients who invited me to their wedding and other friends, or should I say acquitances,. Not to mention some cousins and young uncles as well.

About 4-5 of my relatives and clients also gave birth in 2010.. I guess that's it. 2010 is an ok-ok year where I really thanked Allah for my pregnancy.

So my resolution for 2011?

1) To be a mummmy! A good one, insyallah!
2) When I return from my maternity, I hope to excel in my career and do even better than I did in 2010.
3) Have a regular savings for my daughter-to-be
4) Eliminate procrastination in my life
5) Be happy as a daughter, a wife and hopefully a mummy.

Now updates on my pregnancy:

As I mentioned in my entry earlier, I am scheduled for another check-up on the 31st Dec 2010 to see if my cervix had opened. If it has, then we will be expecting a new year baby. At that point before the check-up, I just had a feeling that my baby wont be a new year baby (as in 1st Jan 11) because I dont feel any pains or anything different from what I had been feeling so far. Besides some discharge here and there.

Yes, I do feel heavier and my feet and hands are really much bigger but that was it.

So we went for the check-up, everything was ok. Baby's head is already down but had not engaged to the "exit door", heartbeat and the ultrasound scan was ok. BUT what wasnt ok was that during one of the scans, we noticed the umbilical cord being lower than the baby's head. This is not a good thing because it would mean that I may not be able to deliver the baby via normal delivery.

So the doctor asked me to come back on the 8th of Jan, where hopefully the umbilical cord will rise and the baby's head will be lower. If not, then chances are, I will need to have a C-section delivery.

The news kinda made me worried because all this while, I had been mentally and physically prepared to give birth normally. I am totally not ready to endure the pain (got to know abt this from people who had done C-section) and probably also the financial part, where we will have to fork out twice the amount than compared to a normal delivery.

Now, hubby and I can only pray and hope that the situation will make a turn. To all those reading this, do pray for me and baby. Thanks in advance. The check-up on the coming 8th will be the verdict. Anyways, I am kinda scheduled to deliver by next week also. Now I am at my 39 weeks btw...

I think I'll stop here, I had posted the most recent picture of me on Facebook, so I wont post it up here... Happy 2011 everyone!
