Stressed!

As mentioned in my previous entry, I am not very excited during this pre-trip period of my holiday (which usually I am) due to unresolved work commitments.

And it doesnt help that the car broke down either.

Last thursday night, hubby & I decided to have dinner outside. Of course the little angel came along. When hubby started the car, the battery signal came out. This signal is the same that appeared when I drove on 23rd Aug 2008 where eventually the car broke down and had to be towed. (see that entry on 23rd Aug 2008)..

Hubby said its the alternator problem. Our initial plan was to send the car for basic servicing on friday. But come friday, when hubby wanted to send me to work, the car could not start at all.

So i took a cab to work and hubby spent the entire morning calling several workshopsn including the agent to enquire on the cost of getting it fixed. They quoted min $400 to $1000++.

We were scummed as we do not want to spend that kind of money on fixing the car before our long-planned holiday.

So I quickly went online last night to book a "substitute" mode of transport to get to and back from KL.

Ended up, I booked a class 1 sleeping cabin with a personal toilet. It's like a private room on the train. I wouldnt want to get a cheaper one with seat and then have problem with my little baby. As least the class 1 cabin have 2 double-decked beds to sleep and a little walkway for the kiddo to crawl. (of course i will bring some mats).. And best thing, our own private toilet & sink. So in event she pooed, i need not worry.

And coming back, we booked a flight from Air Asia. We opted for food and the front seats with longer leg space.

All in all, it costs us $387. The cheapest we can find so far.

And today, my dad coincidentally found a workshop who has that sparepart and voila, the car was fixed!

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?

OMG!

So tomorrow, after sending my daughter for gym, I'm going down to woodlands train checkpoint (i called in to see if can cancel online but apparently cannot) to see if I can cancel the ticket we booked and get a refund. We'll drive if we can get back at least 75% refund. Otherwise, we'll stick to public transport.

Oh god, is this a test for us?

Whatever it is, I pray that He'll grant us best of health and convenience for the trip, insyallah.

I'll update again before we leave (either here or on FB) which mode we'll be taking in the end.

Till then, salam maal hijrah to all muslims out there. It is our new year in the Muslin calendar today. :)
