First up, my Company R&R cum Awards Nite at Batam Island on 31st March -1st April 2011.
Thankfully, my husband was on his rest day for both days so I was able to go with a peace of mind knowing that there will be someone taking care of my daughter. Not that my parents cannot take care, but sometimes they have their own lives to take care of so they are not available at times.
Anyways, we stayed in Golden View Hotel. It was a 4 star hotel with nice facilities and services. Upon reaching the island, we were taken to the biggest buddist temple in Southeast Asia. Next, we went to visit the original Polo Ralph Lauren Boutique. Since it was over my budget, I didnt get anything there. Lunch was at Golden Prawn 933. We bought keropoks at the store before lunch. Most of the keropoks are cheap and tasted good!
We even dropped by to Diana Cake Lapis to try some homemade kueh lapis. I ordered some to bring back home since I'm visiting my in-laws that weekend.
Golden Prawn 933 has been too commercialised such that the service standards and quality of food dropped significantly. Yes, there are a lot of dishes served. Cilli crab, steamed fish, boiled prawns, kangkong, gonggong, butter squids to name a few. But the seafood are not fresh at all. The soup served to us was corn and fishballs but the fishballs tasted like they have been kept for a month!
BTW, after lunch was checked-in. We washed up a bit, did our prayers and then off for some teambuilding activities. We were brought to a site and the activities really bonded all of us together. The company was worthwhile such that having to stand and sweat in the super sunny sun felt almost nothing.
We went back to the hotel after the activities to rest for a while before going for dinner at GOlden Prawn 555 which is super near the hotel Im staying. It was dinner cum our awards night. Everyone had fun, a good laugh. The food though is much better than the one we had for lunch.
That wraps up day 1. Day 2 after breakfast, we all checked-out. The main itineary for that day was a 90mins massage. I had a full body aromatherapy massage and it was awesome! After the massage, there was a batik boutique where I bought something for myself and my daughter.
Finally, it was shopping at Batam Centre Megamall and off we head back to Singapore.

Visited my in-laws in JB. Brought Qistina along. This was the first time her passport had been stamped! Im soo proud! hahaa
7th April to 11th April 2011
This was the day of our first family trip to Malacca and KL!
We left Singapore at about 5.50am and reached Malacca at 1030am. Checked-in at INB Resort. Washed up a bit and off we went to Melaka Wonderland.
The theme park was great, but it was unsatisfactory because the day was sooo hot and the roads to walk bare-footed towards the ride was made of tar. So can you imagine how hot it was? My feet was burning!
I also had no mood to enjoy all the rides because there was no one to look after Qistina. I brought her to the water for about 15 mins and she totally enjoyed it! The day was so hot that my baby was badly tanned! It was her first swim. I'm soo proud!
We gave up after 2.5 hours there. Luckily the entry fee was RM26. So it was quite cheap I feel.
We had lunch at Marrybrown and then off to Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan. Wanted to go Umbai for dinner but becuase we had late lunch, we were all still full. So we settled for A&W before driving back to the hotel.
We went KL the next morning after breakfast and reached my aunt's place in the afternoon. Just in time to help with some preparations for the aqiqah the next day.
On 9th April, majlis aqiqah went on well alhamdullilah. About 150 guests came, the food was delicious and qistina was introduced to all her aunts, uncles, neneks, oyangs there.

Come sunday, 10th April, we decided to go to Sunway Lagoon. This time round, my aunt and uncle brought qistina to send their kids back to their hostels, while we brought their youngest son to sunway. It was really cool, we took all the rides. But too bad it rained half-way so we couldnt get on the amusement park rides like the roller coaster and viking.
We drove back to Singapore the next day and reached safely home at about 830pm.
12th April 2011
Qistina took her 3 month jab - 5 in1, pneomoccoccal and rota. While I took the prevention against cervix cancer jab after my pap smear result showed that I am all fine, alhamdullilah.
14th April 2011
Official date of my start of work. That's the reason why I havent had the time to update my blog now.
I guess I should stop here now. Till then!
