Being a mummy

Alhamdullilah, praises to Allah. It has been 2 weeks 2 days since I became a mummy...

Yes, I am enjoying every single moment of being with my little angel and nursing her 24/7. Whenever I look at her face, I can't believe she had been living inside me for 10 months. Now, I am holding her in my arms. Subhanallah!

But reality is, the task of a mummy is very tiring. I have been getting only 3-4 hours of sleep every single day. If the husband is home, we need to wait till she's asleep before we both can have lunch/dinner together or simply have a nice conversation or watch the TV. We realised our lives now revolves around qistina and her needs comes first. There's lots of things to be done in the morning like helping around with light housework, doing AIA work from home etc, hence I am not able to nap in the morning. Even when I'm free, I just don't feel the urge to nap. (Which is very contrasting to when I was pregnant, I tend to nap whenever I can!)

At night when the husband is home, then we'll take turns to nurse her everytime she wakes up. If husband is on night shift like yesterday, then it will be solely my task and I can forget about getting a good night sleep.

It's not that my baby is cranky, its just that she wakes up every 2-3 hours to have her feed. When she's tired, she'll fall asleep immediately after her feed, burp and diaper change. But if she's alert and wide awake, thats the challenge for us especially if that happens at the middle of the night.

My pretty angel when sound asleep

Thankfully, husband brought a good news yesterday.

You see, we had plans to go for a short travel after my confinement together with Qistina prolly going to Cameron Highlands this March. But because we had a very good deal where air tickets and accomodation are provided as our belated wedding present, we are going to Phillipines, Manila instead!

Husband and I never been to Manila before but we do know that it is a developing country. For Cameron, we know that it is a relatively safe environment to bring our baby along. But for Manila, we are unsure.

So after discussion with my mum and husband, we will not be bringing Qistina along this March. My mum said that she's still too young to travel that far, and had volunteered to take care of her for the 4 days that we will be gone.

So yay, a little break from my mundane routine before I start work again. Also feels like a honeymoon period for both husband and I. Hope all will go as planned, insyallah.
