Truth Revealed

Hello people!

I know I haven’t been writing for so long now… much updating you on my current condition since my last entry. But I have my reasons.

And right now, I will share why.

I mentioned in my previous entry how I suffered from stomach cramps that lasted only a few seconds but it occurred frequently within a day. This started immediately after I returned from my second honeymoon to Genting and KL.

Then 3 weeks later, I started to feel nauseous and could only take in soups and not sambals. And so we eventually went to check the following week.

Before I went to the doctor, which I remembered on a Tuesday, 25th May 2010, I did a self-check first. And the result was this...

Yup, I’m pregnant!

Since I hadn’t been keeping track of my period, I really have no idea when was the last cycle. But deep down inside me, I seemed to feel a presence of something in me. It’s really a grey feeling, but I just had a feeling. I didn’t want to be disappointed, so before going to the doctor, I asked hubby to get me a test kit on his way home and I tried that morning.

After confirming that it was positive, we immediately went to the gynae that afternoon. Upon my mum’s recommendation, we went to visit Dr Aziz whose clinic is in Kembangan. She said if we go straight to the gynae, they can scan and estimate how many weeks that I’m pregnant. The first bill cost us $130 but the feeling after the doctor confirmed my pregnancy is really beyond words. We are going to be parents. There’s “something” inside me that is growing day by day.

So the doctor confirmed that on 25 May, I was 6 weeks pregnant. The fetus was only 2.55mm small. A size of a pimple. Apparently I had started to conceive during our trip to KL/Genting. No wonder I had a really HUGE appetite when I was there. My aunt and cousins commented that I gained weight especially around the hips area. Luckily we didn’t know, because I’m sure if we had known, we wouldn’t enjoy the trip as much as hubby will surely not allow me to go swimming or take the thrilling theme park rides!

Anyways, Dr Aziz recommended that I drink Anmum and 2 weeks later during the next check-up, the fetus has grown to 14mm. And, when the doctor did a scan, we can hear its heartbeat beating at 171 bpm. Hubby and I were ecstatic. By this time, I was already 2 months pregnant.

Nothing much has changed, except that my normal appetite hadn’t return. I still feel nauseous at times and I haven’t had any cravings yet. I do crave sometimes but it’s only once or twice. Maybe more to come.

There also has been a barrier between me and my cats due to hygiene purposes. I rarely do the housework now, and hubby has been “nominated” by my mum to clean my room once every month where he’ll do all the dusting, changing the sheets and curtains, vacuum and mop. For these 9 months, I think I’m being treated like a queen.

Anyway, the main reason for that is also because of the fact that I get tired very easily nowadays. I can be sleeping the entire day, only to wake up for meals and prayers, but I’ll still feel tired. But anyways, I am glad that I am staying with my parents right now. Don’t think I can cope if I’m staying alone.

Our next check-up was yesterday, 5th July. I am in my last stage of my first trimester – 3 months pregnant!

at 12 weeks

From a size of a pimple, we saw a fully developed baby with head, stomach, spine, hands and legs. We could even see the nose clearly! My gosh, hubby and I were smiling in glee throughout the entire scan! And the best part, since the baby was in a very nice position, we could also see the gender! But the doctor confirmed the gender only 90%. He said we’ll wait till the next check-up and then give a 100% confirmation on it :)

My EDD is between 9-15 Jan 2011. Hubby is really looking at 11/1/2011, but that’s not what I care most now. I just needed sufficient rest and hopefully to have a smooth pregnancy. Please pray for me people.

Anyways, in my check-up next month, I’m scheduled to do a full blood test to check baby’s growth and myself thoroughly. And the cost, could reach to about $400… Means hubby and I need to work harder this month!

Till the next update!
