The day that I will never forget

Saturday 23rd August 2008

The initial plan was to go Escape Theme Park with the primary school babes. However, things went into an unexpected turn when Dee was admitted to the hospital and had not been discharged.

Since Fariza & Ani had cancelled their initial plans, the 3 of us decided to proceed with the plan. We planned to meet at 3.30pm, and I was supposed to pick them up with the car. However, it was raining very heavily that day; and Ani had requested to push back the time to 4pm.

Just minutes before I leave the house, my mum called us and we gathered around Hitam. That time dia tengah nazak... That morning when I fed him and gave him medication, I did notice that he was exceptionally weaker. He seems to be gasping and I fed him some water. Then I went to get ready for the outing. Though I'm still feeling the sorrows, I did felt grateful that he actually "waited" for my mum to come back from work. We gathered around him, talked to him but unfortunately he passed away when I went to the toilet. I was remorsed.

Later, I was hesitant to continue with the outing. But remembering that my friends are all ready waiting for me, I composed myself before heading out - crying while driving, till I realized that wasn't a very good idea as my driving wasn't stable. So we met, went to Downtown East for lunch, and decided to "detour" from the theme park to bowling. But the waiting list at the bowling alley is 27 people! I really tried to enjoy myself meeting up with the babes. It worked for a while, before I was thrown into sorrows again....

Seeing that it was useless to wait, the babes decided to proceed to Marina Square to watch the fireworks. It was really my first time driving in town with so many cars who refused to give way to me while changing lanes. But that day, I learnt the technique of squeezing in between cars to change lanes during heavy traffic :)

We eventually parked at the Esplanade carpark. The fireworks was fantastic! I took videos of it but there seems to be some problems uploading it...

While driving back home, I made the wrong turn and we were driving in circles. Suddenly, my fuel level went to empty. I thought it was ridiculous becuase I had just topped up the petrol full! Then, my speedometer went to 0km/h but I was driving! My wiper doesnt work and it was raining, and my signal lights failed.

The girls panicked but I tried to remain calm. I knew I had to get them back safe. To cut the story short, the car could hold till we reached Geylang. The road was jammed packed. Luckily I was driving at the 3rd lane when the car suddenly jerked. I steered to the most left and the car stopped running just in time!

I called my dad and Mr. HHH, he came down, waited for the car to be towed and got back home only at 1am. Apparently the battery ran flat and there's some fuse problem.

That was definitely an experience!
A day that I will never forget... ever...
