Roller-coaster week

Beware long entry.

As per title, this week was a roller-coaster week of emotion.

FIrst up, about the business trip. AGAIN. Since I have a few concerned friends, I had promised that I will post the whole story on my blog. And it will be up to you to determine what's right and wrong. I'm going to tell the story as per it is, nothing changed or tampered with...

Before I start, let's give some legends to some names so I don't have to continue typing those names.

MB = My boss
BB = My boss's boss
TB = That be-atch
AB = Another boss (she's not in my dpt but she's helping on some things)

On my first day of work, AB told me that since I am helping in this project, I will be going on the biz trip with them. I wasn't expecting anything, I just slaved for MB. I enjoyed doing the project, and even 1 week when I was sick, I didn't even apply for any MC or leave coz I know that I had many things to follow up. Such that Mr. HHH even called me "the staff of the month" or pekerja contoh la...

Then 2 weeks ago, MB said that I won't be going to the trip coz she can't justify for me to go. At that point, I learnt TB whom MB favors is going. But I was confused because TB was not even involved in this project and she got to go because MB likes her? Is that unfair or is that unfair?

I got over it, and I already made plans for the week that they will be gone. I collated my time-offs and I thought that I will use those on that week. So things was going fine.

Last tues, MB told me that I will be going together with them becuase there are so many things to be done there. So last tuesday, I got my flight booked, I got my room booked, I bought my uniform and had it tailored (tho I didnt pay for it), I got my namecards done. Basically all necessary preparations had been done. And the best part, TB was taken out of the trip becoz BB was very fair. She said TB had never done anything, hence she is really not justified to go. Since then, whenever TB saw me at work, she never once smiled or even talk to me. But heck!

Then last freaking friday, BB submitted the budget paper to the biggest boss for approval. And he asked to check with HR on whether interns can go. And HR said that interns have no travel benefits. Which means, if I insist on going, I am to pay everything on my own and that I am not given any allowance as what the perm staff will get. So in the end, TB got to replace me and she is going for this biz trip without even doing any farking thing!

Upon reaching this part, I am still ok. I accepted my fate, since it is HR policy. But what made me blew my top was this conversation:

Me: ... Ok, so I'm not going. So can I still take the time-off. I collated about 4 days of time-off

MB: (in a sarcastic tone): WOw, u really take note very closely of your time!

Me: Well, I have no choice. Everytime I submit my timesheet to HR, they kept reminding me that I'm not paid OT and that I have the right to claim time-off

MB: Ok, sure but u can't take 4 days in a row. When we are there, we need u to be in stand-by in the office in case we need anything...

When I heard that, ít came to me. U guys will be there, thousands of mile away from SG. Even if things go wrong there, WHAT THE FREAKING HELL CAN I DO IN SG? I cant fly all the way there to be your saviour. The team must be there to settle the issue themselves!! At this stage, I can still keep my patience.

So then, I asked this question. This mon (tomorrow), I am planning to take at least a day off to collect my glasses, my ready-made uniform because the shop is closed by the time I knock-off work, and to go school to confirm on something.

You see, this coming week is a critical week for me becuase SMU Bidding system (for classes) will start. And because this is my FINAL SEMESTER before graduation, I am thinking of dropping by registrar to double confirm the subjects that I have cleared and the remaining ones that I have to clear.

And so I asked:

ME: Anyway, can I take a day off this coming monday becoz I need to go back sch to settle some stuffs?

MB: Eh no, you can't dissappear the whole day. This is a critical period for us. What time is ur appointment with your school? Just go for your sch. Then come back.

This time, I lost my patience. After 10 weeks that I have been here, I HAVE NEVER EVER TAKEN A SINGLE TIME OFF NOR LEAVE NOR MC! And just this monday leave, and i cant even get it? All the other interns never had full attendance. They have taken like so many leave and off days.

Even if there are things to do, which to me is not so important and that it can be settled on tues, why can MB ask TB to do something, at least to justify that she's goign for the trip?

I was really pissed and disturbed last friday. Not only that, MB actually have the cheek to ask me to stay late last friday to settle some misc stuffs. But I left at 6pm on the dot. I really can't be bothered anymore. It's totally so unfair.

So that's my story peeps.
Bottomline: I am still not going for that biz trip. And I am still sore about the time-off thing.

On the bright side, I will be leaving work by 2.30pm tomorrow!

This will be my very last entry on this topic. I really don't want to talk about it anymore.

That aside, I did some fun things like week.

First, I met with Eileen last wednesday just for a catch up cum dinner session.

I was interning with her last year, and it's been quite a while since we last catch up. I let the pics do the talking.

And last friday, after all that drama-mama, I met Mr. HHH to calm my feelings.

We went to have dinner at Beach Road. And later I wanted to settle down at any beach to regain back my calmness.

Me: Which is the nearest beach that we can go to?

Him: You've already seen 2 "beaches". [If u understand what it means :)]

And that caught me laughing!

We didn't go to the beach in the end, becuase on the way to Pasir Ris Beach, we passed the E!HUb mall and it came to me that we've never been there before.

We cam-whored at the carpark, bought some fondue, signed up for some NEBO membership card, and went home.

I was feeling much better by then.
