Relief Updates

I counted, and I am left with 12 more relief sessions.

Why count?

1)I’m glad that the children’s school term ends on 14 November which is also Ain’s birthday.
2)Glad that it didn’t clash with my schedule because I’ll be busy preparing for the final term project reports and presentations by mid-November
3)I am starting to feel irritated with those “overly-manja” children in the class.
4)A bit pressured by the VP’s expectations on me

The children have been very familiar with me as I have taught (relief) them since they were in nursery. (Now they are in K2).

And am proud to announce that I am their favorite teacher for some of them. Dee, you should know who la eh…

For that reason, familiarity makes this children “overly-manja” and mengada-ngada. They want this and that, and if they don’t get it starts to make face or wrapping their arms around me consistently. Yeah, some of you may think that’s cute. I don’t deny it is. The innocence part of the child, I would say. But sometimes I'll just ignore them... :)

But if it happens every time I turned up for class, I do get irritated. And tired of telling them the same thing. “Stop doing that.”

I read some books on controlling children etc, but I guess familiarity makes all those new methods fail. I know my entry sounds like the whole class is acting like that, but actually there’s only 2-3 irritating ones la... haha

And since their graduation concert falls on 2nd nov, and that I am teaching them the finale songs, I don’t deny some pressure from the VP to ensure they learnt and memorize the songs by hard.

The thing is, not that I refuse to put in effort but sometimes school work really pulls my morale and energy down. Sometimes I come to class tired from lack of sleep or thinking about the piling assignments.

For that, I am bribing them with some treats starting tomorrow.

p/s: actually the kids can already sing 3 out of 4 song, but I just want to create a sense of competition in class to get those minority children who refuse to put in effort to buck-up :)

p/p/s: I am going for star gazing this Friday. Hope to see Jupiter. Will write about it soon.

Looking forward for this week’s weekend where I can just chill!!
I hope I don’t speak too soon…

Till then, Love!
Have a good mid-week!
