We stayed at the Theme Park Hotel. When I booked the hotel in Singapore and paid it at their Genting office in Park Lane Mall, I was told that the package I bought consists of a 1 double bed and the following:
- free breakfast for 2
- free meal for 2
- free cable car ride up for 2
- free cable car down for 2
- free entry to an exhibition for 2
- 25% off outdoor themepark for 2 each
The package, for 3D2N only costs me less than $200. The plan was to request for an extra single bed upon reaching the hotel, and since there were 3 of us, we wanted to get extra cable car tickets. But we were fascinated from the cable car ride up such that we totally forgot about buying the cable car tickets (down) and just checked in. And that was a good thing becuase, at the check-in counter, I was negotiating to get a single bed for free (becuase in SG they told me I dont have to pay but when Im there, they said an extra bed will cost RM20 per night). I mean, instead of spending RM60 on a bed, I would rather spend it on other things. Cheapo, I know.
At the end of the negotiation, they upgraded my room to a triple deluxe at NO ADDITIONAL COSTS and we receive 2 more of the package that contain the free stuffs mentioned above! In the end, our meals are secured for free (and that the voucher allows u to eat at another 3-star and 4-star hotel), our cable car rides are secured, and we got the themepark rides at discounted rates!
I even signed up for the Genting Membership Card for free, and that provides further discounts to the indoor themepark!! How cool was that?! Rezeki kita :)
Upon checked in, we washed up a bit, did our prayers and ate some snacks before heading down to the indoor theme park first.
Here's some shots behind the indoor ferris wheel. We didnt take so much shots here as we were busy enjoying the rides - such as the roller coaster, bumper cars and more roller-coaster-like rides...

Then, we went to the Haunted House and Ripley's Believe it Or Not...

With specs for 3D haunted house
Some shots in Ripley's

Once done, we went back to the hotel to shower and did our prayers before going out again for dinner. I didn't want to use the vouchers for our first night there as we planned to use them for the entire day the next day. So we went to eat at the Penang Food Village within the hotel. I remembered they ordered 2 wanton noodles, and I ordered a fishball noodle with 3 teas but it all added up to RM46!
After dinner, we went back to the rides, and eventually returned to the hotel at 1am...
Day 4: 11th August 2008
The next day, we woke up at around 8am before heading to breakfast at the Happy Valley Restaurant in the hotel. We wanted to get an early start at the outdoor theme park since it closes by 7pm.
Some shots....

There's this 1 ride that I think was the scariest ride I have ever been on. During the queue, I trembled after seeing a woman who looked like she fainted. She didn't of course, just shocked I guess...

Called the space shot - 150 feet high
I was hugging my hands around my chest once I sat on the ride. Till the ride operator asked if I was O.k... The only fear that was on my mind was, what if any of us got a heart-attack or fainted or etc?
I just remembered things getting smaller and smaller on the way up, and suddenly we went down again. I can hardly feel that I was seated oK! And I was just screaming all the way till the ride ended...
After we went down, I recalled that none of us could even walk properly. Our limbs were shaking and we had to sit down for a while.
The ride was fun, but terrifying I guess :)
Once done with the rides, we went to eat our dinner cum lunch at Resort Cafe, at a 4-star hotel FOC... We ate all we can as we were so hungry...
We then proceeded with the last minute shopping since that will be our last day there. Think we spent RM300 for shopping... hahaha.. And we cam-whored a lot! I think too many to even be posted here... All the funny and geeky shots...
Day 5: 12th August 2008
That was our last day in Genting. We rise and shine as early as 8am and headed to breakfast at the Resort Cafe again.

After breakfast, we went back to the hotel to check out. After taking all our luggages, then Ika & Ida decided that they wanted to cam-whore at a park opposite our hotel. Without us knowing, we need to climb like an overhead bridge la ok! Sungguh berat!

The final shot before we left for the cable car ride down...

We reached KL Central quite early than expected. So we had lunch and did a bit more shopping before boarding our train back to Singapore.
Overall, it was a very exciting get-away. Not to mention relatively cheap and halal food was available everywhere. Language was also a no-problemo...
We safely reached Singapore at about 11pm that day.
A well deserved holiday indeed!
