The serviced residence apartment that we slept in was the most fabulous of all. It was like a 3-room HDB flat with a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a separate toilet. See for yourself to believe it! I swear it was the most comfortable accomodation for the entire trip, lah!
The itenary for that day was actually very flimsy. We couldn't manage to confirm any site visits. However, things turned into a blessing when my prof, together with 6 representatives from the class was able to secure a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education. So for those who didn't go (me included), went to a city tour to the Heritage Village.

After the meeting, that was when things turned. We got invited to visit both the women and men's Higher College of Technology; which was both situated in different places, but both in the middle of the desert. How cool!
I won't be posting up any pictures of the colleges because of some sensitivity issues but I am amazed that their campuses are much better than SMU. If you think SMU looks cool with the glass walls & all, theirs have more glass walls everywhere. If you think we are cool with our school facilities, theirs are much better. They even have TV everywhere that broadcasts incoming visitors so that all staffs and faculties are aware.
And while SMU has this thing called the virtual canvas, theirs are touch-screens with a very friendly user interface! And they even have different kinds of fastfoods within their cafeteria... I wish I was schooling there. Everything is available (even rooms where you could just bunked in for a while after a tired day in school) and you don't even have to leave the place. *super-cool!*

That's not all for that day. After the friendly visits to the colleges, we actually got invited for dinner with the King of Abu Dhabi in his palace! Oh my goodness! Very rare opportunity la ok. That time, the prime minister from a country that I forgot the name was with us, but the king still talks to us quite a bit. We had to stand when he stands and seat when he seats.
The servants served us bitter coffee & sweet tea (in small portions) and the glass was rotated to serve everyone. It's like sharing glasses within all those available in the room. Not to mention I burnt my tongue real bad becuase the drinks are so boiling hot but I had to gulp it asap as they are waiting for my glass.... gross..
Again, because of sensitivity issues, I won't post up any pictures but there is one that I like to share.

Fyi, the mutton is camél's meat. I add a camel during dinner with the king. Yummy! The servants keep pouring more and more food into my plate till I seriously feel like puking. Dinner was nice but I guess I was overfed. *grins*
Dinner ended when the king finished his food. Some of my friends who were still eating have to stop once the king leave the room. How sad. But when I looked back, there was ample of food left. I seriously wonder where it will go to. The rubbish bin or fed to the poor?
After dinner, we took the coach to Dubai. It was about 1 1/2 hours journey. We arrived at Dubai around 11pm.
