As you all may have jolly well known, (and it's published at Berita Harian yesterday front page), I will be going to the middle east from 19-27 April.
So yesterday, received an email from the travel team in charge of sourcing for goodies, or commonly known as "exotic-places-where-if-you-want-to-go-must-pay-yourself-coz-the-costs-is-not-included-in-the-trip"....
The choices are:
1. Desert Safari Tour with BBQ Dinner [SGD$90]
2. Lunch at Emirates Palace (Abu Dhabi) @ Le Vendome Restaurant [ SGD$120]
3. Lunch at Burj Al Arab (Dubai) @ Al Iwan Restaurant [ SGD$180]
4. Dhow Cruise Dinner ( international Buffet Dinner) [SGD$70]
Option 1 is a MUST-GO. It's a desert tour in the sand dudes on car with dinner and belly dancers [READ: Belly dancers] in tents. I'm sure that will be a wonderful experience. You can even ski in the sand since it's like a "sand hill".
Option 4 is out coz there's really nothing much to see. It's just dinner in an "old" boat, which I have kinda experienced in Malaysia.
So Im torn between option 2 and 3. Emirates Palace is a very grand hotel [not a real palace] attached to museum and exotic decor. Burj Al Arab as you may have known is the WORLD's largest, biggest most expensive 7-star hotel which you have to pay upon entry. And it is often swarmed with government officials...
Upon hearing reviews on the food served and the actual decor of the place, it seems that Burj is a bit overblown. Comparing to emirates, the price for lunch is not worth paying... Dunno if they actually serve "golden" chicken for the kind of price.
My final choice: Desert tour & Emirates Palace...
I do hope I've made the right choice... There'll be a next time [I hope!]
It's midweek. Have a great Wednesday all!
Till then, Love!
p/s: Of course if I have the financial capabilities I can choose all 4 options, but I don't want to spend all the money on food and later none for entertainment or shopping! *winks*
